Illinois Watch Co., Springfield, Illinois, contract watch for "Armstrong The Jeweler", 18 size, 15 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, gold timing screws and Chalmers micrometric regulator in an 18 karat, rose gold, engraved, vermicelli edge, box hinge hunting case with presentation on gold cuvette and engraved "A.R." cipher on front cover, Arabic numerals, outer red 5-minute markers, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel pierced morning glory hands, serial #1091169, 147.3g TW, c1890.
CONDITION:
CASE: Case has housed another movement; Numerous shallow dents; Waves; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Pendant with marring from chain hook; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Hairline in enamel, very light, 6:00. HANDS: Specks of oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Heavier scratches on barrel bridge and one between case screw and banking pin; Pin pricks; Regulator assembly with a few specks of oxide; Significant loss to blacking in engraving. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) .
